Fischer and Sasse Cosponsor Resolution Welcoming Prime Minister Netanyahu to a Joint Session of Congress
Washington, D.C. – U.S. Senators Deb Fischer and Ben Sasse of Nebraska released the following statement this afternoon after cosponsoring a resolution to welcome Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to a joint session of Congress on March 3, 2015: “As the administration’s negotiations with Iran over its nuclear program near their deadline, the American people deserve a chance to hear directly from our strongest ally in the region. We welcome Prime Minister Netanyahu to Congress and look forward to hearing his perspective on the nuclear negotiations and their implications for the future security of the Middle East.” On March 3, 2015, Prime Minister Netanyahu of Israel will speak to a joint session of Congress. This will be his third appearance before Congress, following remarks he delivered on July 10, 1996 and May 24, 2011. |
