WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Sen. Deb Fischer (R-Neb.) will convene the Subcommittee on Surface Transportation and Merchant Marine Infrastructure, Safety, and Security tomorrow morning, Tuesday, March 24, 2015, at 10:00 a.m. EST. The hearing is entitled “Surface Transportation Reauthorization: Performance, not Prescription.”
The committee will examine opportunities and challenges with regard to performance-based regulations in transportation policy, focusing on commercial vehicles, hazardous materials, and pipeline safety. This is the subcommittee’s second hearing on the reauthorization of highway safety programs.
