A Positive Message

Dear Friend,

As the summer comes to a close, I wanted to take a moment to reflect on all the exciting moments from my time traveling across Nebraska this August. From Omaha to Scottsbluff, and many stops in between, I enjoyed visiting our local communities and hearing your concerns on the important issues facing our nation. Since January, I've hosted 26 listening sessions and community coffees throughout Nebraska, eight of which were held this past August.

 "A Positive Message
"

My work in the U.S. Senate does not end when I'm back in Nebraska. This month, I welcomed officials from Washington to our state to learn firsthand how their policies are impacting our communities.

On August 3, I chaired a field hearing of the Senate Committee on Small Business and Entrepreneurship in Lincoln. We heard from several Nebraska entrepreneurs on the regulatory roadblocks that are making it harder to start and grow businesses in our state. Later that month, I welcomed FCC Commissioner Michael O'Rielly to Grand Island for a roundtable on broadband access for Nebraska's agriculture producers. These events allow me to connect Nebraska stakeholders with national policymakers. They also reinforce my belief that the best ideas come from outside of Washington.

I hope you had a wonderful summer and wish you and your family all the best as you prepare for a new school year. Continue reading below for more information on this and other news from my office this month.

I was honored to be a part of the dedication ceremony for the Omaha
National Cemetery.

It's not a day at the state fair until you've stopped by the Beef Pit. Thanks to these cattlemen for a delicious meal!

Grateful for the opportunity to speak at a send-off ceremony for nearly 100 Nebraska National Guard troops.

Enjoyed having an informative conversation with stakeholders at my agriculture roundtable in Alliance.

I was proud to join Judge Robert Rossiter at his investiture ceremony. He will serve Nebraska with integrity, professionalism, and dedication to the rule of law.

I spent one morning at Bluffs Bakery visiting with folks who came out for my Scottsbluff community coffee.

Thanks to everyone who joined me at the Bean Broker in Chadron for a Senate update.

I had a wonderful time touring the old Burlington & new KETV station. Thankful they've restored this amazing building.
