Fischer Visits Omaha VA
OMAHA, NEB. – This afternoon, U.S. Senator Deb Fischer (R-Neb) visited the Omaha VA, where she received an update on construction of the facility’s new ambulatory clinic. Legislation Senator Fischer shepherded through Congress allowed the community of Omaha to help with planning and construction and get this project going.
“Our veterans deserve the best care possible. Working together we made the needed policy changes so that the Omaha community could help with the planning and construction of the Omaha VA’s new clinic. It’s great to see this important project for our veterans becoming a reality,” said Senator Fischer.
Senator Fischer championed legislation, the CHIP IN for Vets Act, which allows local communities to manage construction of VA projects. Because of this legislation, the city of Omaha and the Omaha VA were able to partner together to build this new ambulatory clinic for Nebraska veterans.
