OMAHA, NEB. – U.S. Senator Deb Fischer (R-Neb.) visited students and teachers at Saddlebrook Elementary in Omaha today and released the following statement:

“It was a pleasure to spend time at Saddlebrook Elementary where I visited with students who are studying Nebraska’s history, read a story to a wonderful group of kindergartners, and heard from the school’s dedicated teaching staff. These children represent our state’s future, and it is so important that we provide them with the knowledge to succeed.”

Senator Fischer has long been involved in Nebraska education. She served as a commissioner on the Nebraska Coordinating Commission for Post-Secondary Education, a member of the Valentine Rural High School Board of Education, and President of the Valentine Rural High School Foundation. Additionally, she served as President of the Board of Directors for the Nebraska Association of School Boards.
