LINCOLN, NEB. – Today, U.S. Senator Deb Fischer (R-Neb.), a member of the Senate Commerce Committee and chairman of the Subcommittee on Transportation and Safety, released the following statement after the U.S. Department of Transportation (DoT) announced a $3.2 million grant to support the reconstruction of the taxiway at Kearney Regional Airport:

“This announcement from DoT represents another critical investment in Nebraska’s airport infrastructure. Reconstructing the airport’s taxiway will help enable more travel, keeping Nebraskans connected with the rest of the country,” said Senator Fischer.

This grant will go toward a $6.7 million project to reconstruct Kearney's taxiway. Kearney's airport recently completed reconstruction work on its runway.
