WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Senator Deb Fischer (R-Neb.), a member of the Senate Commerce Committee and the top Republican on the Surface Transportation, Maritime, Freight, and Ports Subcommittee, released the following statement after Senators Shelley Moore Capito (R-W.Va.), Roger Wicker (R-Miss.), Pat Toomey (R-Pa.), and John Barrasso (R-Wyo.) held a press conference announcing a framework to address the nation’s infrastructure needs:
“I am pleased that an actual infrastructure proposal has been put forward. This framework recognizes the Senate’s successful past bipartisan work. From roads and bridges to ports, airports, waterways and broadband, core infrastructure is a key responsibility of the federal government. This is how the Biden administration and Congress ought to be approaching this critical issue.”
