Fischer to Chair Hearing on Transportation Technology
Witnesses Will Testify on Innovative Technologies and How They Can Improve Nation’s Transportation Network
WASHINGTON – U.S. Sen. Deb Fischer (R-Neb.) will convene her sixth hearing as chairman of the Senate Commerce Subcommittee on Surface Transportation and Merchant Marine Infrastructure, Safety and Security tomorrow morning, Tuesday, July 7, 2015, at 1:30 p.m. EST. The hearing will focus on innovative technologies that improve the safety and efficiency of our nation's transportation network, particularly the movement of goods through the supply chain. Witnesses will provide an overview of the development and implementation of new technologies within their businesses. They will also discuss opportunities and challenges for continued innovation, and examine ways in which the federal government can facilitate innovation, including through the removal of unnecessary statutory or regulatory impediments.
