WASHINGTON – Nebraska’s Congressional delegation today issued the following statement after meeting with Secretary of Veterans Affairs (VA) Robert McDonald to discuss options for modernizing care received by our veterans:

“This meeting was productive and allowed us to discuss with Secretary McDonald the growing need to replace the Omaha Veterans Hospital,” said Sens. Deb Fischer and Mike Johanns and Reps. Lee Terry, Jeff Fortenberry and Adrian Smith. “Nebraskans are committed to caring for our veterans. We are glad the Secretary shares that view and sees the value in working with Nebraska’s delegation to reach the mutual goal of providing effective care for our veterans.”
