Today, U.S. Senator Deb Fischer (R-Neb.), issued the following statement after the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) announced it is taking steps to reconsider the Biden administration’s costly light-duty, medium-duty, and heavy-duty emissions regulations. These regulations formed the foundation of the Biden administration’s electric vehicle mandate.
“Instead of recognizing the cost and unreliability of an electric vehicle mandate, the Biden administration chose to force EVs on automakers and the public. I applaud President Trump’s EPA for allowing the market to take its course and for supporting practical, market-driven changes—such as the year-round sale of E15—to achieve environmental goals for America’s vehicle fleet,” said Senator Fischer.
