Dear Friend,

The past month brought historic change to Washington, both in the Congress and the administration.

I’m humbled by Nebraska’s decision to send me back to the Senate for six more years, and I will never break the trust they have placed in me.

In January, I look forward to working with President Trump and my colleagues to make America safer and more affordable—the two biggest concerns I heard from Nebraskans as I traveled the state this fall.

In October, I visited farmers, ranchers, nurses, teachers, and small business owners in dozens of communities. I also spoke at several events, like the 2024 Defense Intelligence Information System Worldwide Conference in Omaha and the Kawasaki Motors Manufacturing’s 50-year celebration in Lincoln.

Read more below for a recap of my work and travels!

A Thriving Nebraska

Making Nebraska an even better place to live, work, and raise a family requires teamwork. We need close coordination between private companies, nonprofits, and every level of government.

I saw wonderful examples of that collaboration on my visits to the Lincoln Head Start program’s new building, North Platte Regional Airport’s groundbreaking, and the grand opening of Pacific Engineering Inc.’s new space in Omaha.

Read more here about my travels and how we can partner together to help Nebraska thrive.

Hospitals

Our rural hospitals face rising costs, but Nebraskans need the healthcare access they provide.

Earlier this fall, I introduced the Supporting Access to Rural Community Hospitals Act to help keep rural hospitals open and serving Nebraskans.

You can read more here about one way I’m working to preserve healthcare access for Nebraskans living in our rural areas.

Veterans

Our veterans deserve every opportunity to participate in the American dream they’ve fought to protect. But regulations are preventing some veterans from using their GI Bill benefits to make that dream a reality.

This past month, President Biden signed my Veteran Improvement Commercial Driver License Act into law to address this problem.

Border Security

Five times the population of Nebraska has streamed into our country since President Biden took office. The sheer volume of people has overwhelmed law enforcement’s ability to catch, track, and vet these individuals. If comprehensive border security legislation is not passed, it’s only a matter of time until one slips through the cracks, and America pays the price.

I look forward to working with President Trump and my colleagues to finally secure the border and stop the historic influx of illegal immigrants into our country. The needs and safety of American citizens must come first.

Inflation

Over the hundreds of visits I’ve had with Nebraskans these past few months, one issue keeps rising to the top: everything still costs too much.

No one can afford the price of Bidenomics. If we’re ever going to lower prices for Nebraska’s families, we need a change in approach, one that prioritizes the cost of living instead of politics.

In January, I look forward to addressing costs by cutting unnecessary regulations that raise the prices of everything from homes to groceries.

Read more here about how a change in our nation’s leadership will help lower prices for Nebraskans.

Oct. 7 Attacks

One year ago, Hamas attacked our ally Israel—slaughtering Israelis and Americans alike, abducting hundreds of hostages, and starting a war that still ravages the Middle East.

On October 7, a year after this savage attack, I reaffirmed my support for Israel’s defense.

Iran’s Missile Attacks

Following Iran’s ballistic missile attack on Israel, I issued a statement condemning the Biden-Harris administration’s lenient Iran policy, and I urged stronger, unwavering support for Israel.

As President Trump takes office in January, I look forward to working with an administration that firmly stands with Israel and against our enemies.

You can never go wrong with a coffee from Stories Coffee Co! So happy to have stopped by while I was in Omaha.
As I traveled through Omaha, I made a pit stop at Pacific Engineering Inc., where I was invited to speak at the opening of their new facility. Thanks to PEI, Nebraskans are helping rebuild our military to counter modern threats from China and Russia.
I had a great time in North Platte talking with KNOP News about NP airport’s new terminal. It is wonderful news for the area, and I am proud to support it!
I had the privilege of attending the groundbreaking for the new terminal at the North Platte Airport. It is a welcome upgrade that supports the growing region. Securing the funds for this project was a top priority for me, and I’m glad to see these investments in our state.

It was an honor to meet with the Nebraska Rural Health Association and stakeholders at CHI Health in Omaha. This month marked the start of the VA’s new program that links hospitals across the state with the Omaha VA. I’m excited to see our work finally in action!
I stopped by the National Weather Service Center in Hastings. Nebraska is proud of all the hard workers there for keeping us informed and prepared in severe weather situations!
It’s always a pleasure to visit Mayor Rusty Hike and his team at Bellevue City Hall. We discussed the future of businesses and economic development in the city.
I enjoyed touring Kohll’s Rx in Millard. A special thank you to their team for providing state-of-the-art care to our friends and neighbors!
It’s always a pleasure to stop by KNEB in Scottsbluff for a good conversation! I hope to be back soon.
This past month I toured the Hope Center for Kids in Omaha. They provide children a safe space to receive academic and emotional care after school and over the summer.
I enjoyed meeting with community leaders in Scottsbluff. It was exciting to hear about the new plans for the area, and I cannot wait to see them in action!
I had a wonderful time speaking at the ribbon cutting of the newly renovated Bansal Family Home for Head Start in Lincoln. I am excited to witness the opportunities in store for children and families at this amazing center.
I enjoyed meeting with Christine Wenzl and Cardiologist Dr. Jonathan Cramer from the Adult Congenital Heart Association to discuss the unique challenges faced by adult patients born with a heart defect.

One of my favorite stops this past month was visiting with Amy and Ryan Beethe and their delightful family, my 2024 Angels in Adoption honorees. Their inspirational story is a testament to the power of unconditional love and the importance of a forever family in the life of a child.

At the Department of Defense Intelligence Information System Worldwide Conference this past month, I visited with STRATCOM as well as Data Security, Inc. and Penlink. We’re all working together to keep America safe and secure.
I was honored to speak at the Kawasaki Motors Manufacturing’s 50-year celebration in Lincoln. I am glad to support the incredible work Nebraskans do there every day.
I was honored to speak to the 4,000 attendees at the 2024 Defense Intelligence Information System Worldwide Conference in Omaha. Partnering together, we can prepare America to fight and win in the cyber domain.

This past month, I toured the UNMC Davis Global Center and saw how UNMC continues to lead in infectious disease response. Their collaboration with the Air Force will ensure our troops can safely respond to infectious disease outbreaks.

I made a pit stop at Ash Grove to tour their facility in Louisville and hear updates on their recent innovations in the cement industry!
I had a great time speaking at the KNEW initiative launch at UNK. Early childhood educators are the unsung heroes of Nebraska's communities, and I am proud to support these critical professionals!

Thank you for participating in the democratic process.
