Fischer Joins President Trump at the White House for Announcement Year-Round Sale of E-15
The sale of E-15 year-round is a big deal for Nebraska farmers, renewable fuel producers, and rural communities. This announcement combined with the USMCA, the South Korea trade agreement, and the start of trade talks with Japan are all signs that we are moving in the right direction. I thank President Trump for his efforts on behalf of our producers.
Safer Skies
Every few years, Congress has the opportunity to pass legislation to reauthorize the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). The last FAA reauthorization was in 2012, and this is the first time in over 35 years that Congress has passed a five-year FAA reauthorization. President Trump recently signed this legislation into law. Leading up to the bill, I heard directly from local airport administrators, manufacturers, airlines, and passengers.
Senate Confirms Judge Brett Kavanaugh to Supreme Court With Fischer’s Support
“Judge Brett Kavanaugh is an excellent jurist with a deep commitment to our Constitution and the rule of law. Over the course of his 12 years on the D.C. Circuit Court, he has proven to be one of the most thoughtful, preeminent judges in our nation. He will serve the American people with distinction.”
Fischer Will Vote for Judge Kavanaugh
From the beginning, I have supported Judge Kavanaugh because he is eminently qualified to serve on the Supreme Court. Today, I reviewed the FBI report and there continues to be no corroboration or evidence that he was involved in any misconduct. I look forward to voting for him later this week.
FAA Bill Passes Senate
Working with Nebraskans, I secured provisions that will benefit many of our airports and keep our communities connected. Because of the wins for Nebraska in this bill, people in our state will have better access to air service, and they’ll be safer when they fly.
More Investments for Nebraska Communities
Federal grants help Nebraska communities grow. In this week’s column, I’m proud to report on where a few federal grants dollars are headed to better help communities across our state.
Fischer Statement on U.S.-Canada-Mexico Agreement
Mexico and Canada are Nebraska’s two largest trading partners. I’m grateful to President Trump for following through on his commitment to negotiate a better trade deal between our three countries. I’m optimistic this agreement will bring good opportunities to Nebraska producers and our state.
Fischer Welcomes New U.S.-South Korea Trade Deal
Nebraska ag producers need international market access so they can deliver their products to the world. South Korea is one of our state’s top customers. I have long supported modernizing trade agreements like this because it will provide certainty for our farmers and ranchers.
Fischer Visits With Female Nebraska Honor Flight at Arlington Cemetery
It was a privilege to visit with this all-female honor flight at Arlington Cemetery today. These Nebraska women served in different conflicts throughout our history, but they all have shown great courage and selflessness. I join all Nebraskans in thanking them for their service to our country.
Paid Family Leave Tax Incentive Guidance Issued
“Now that this guidance is out, I encourage employers, especially small businesses, to take advantage of this opportunity to offer paid family leave. The program provides working families more flexibility as they balance caring for their loved ones with work obligations. Extending this tax-credit would give businesses more time to establish paid family leave and ensure this program is working for families,” said Senator Fischer.
