WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Senator Deb Fischer (R-Neb.), a member of the Senate Armed Services Committee and the chairman of the subcommittee on Strategic Forces, released the following statement on the Senate confirmation of Vice Admiral Charles Richard to be Commander of the U.S. Strategic Command (STRATCOM):
“I’m happy to see the Senate swiftly confirm Admiral Richard to be the next commander of U.S. Strategic Command. I look forward to working with him in my role as chairman of the Senate Armed Services Subcommittee on Strategic Forces once he takes the helm of the command at Offutt Air Force Base. I’d also like to reiterate my gratitude to General Hyten for his dedicated leadership of STRATCOM over the past three years.”
