Today, U.S. Senator Deb Fischer (R-Neb.) issued the following statement in response to Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s address to Congress:
“Israel is fighting a just war against the torture, rape, and slaughter of its people. No one who heard Prime Minister Netanyahu’s address today can doubt that our nations are bound together by deeply held values of liberty and democracy,” said Senator Fischer.
“The profound disrespect of some Democrats for our embattled ally today was shameful. Their refusal to escort the prime minister into the chamber after extending him the invitation was a disgrace. But Israel must know that the majority of Americans only honor the soldiers who have sacrificed their limbs and lives to return hostages home and bring Hamas to its rightful end. As the prime minister said: Israel’s victory will be America’s victory,” she continued.
