WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Senator Deb Fischer (R-Neb.), a member of the Senate Environment and Public Works Committee and the Senate Agriculture Committee, today welcomed the EPA’s announcement of a new water policy proposed rule. The rule replaces the Obama administration’s 2015 “Waters of the United States” (WOTUS) rule, which expanded the federal government’s jurisdiction over Nebraska’s water:

“The 2015 WOTUS rule had far-reaching consequences that would have hurt every single Nebraskan. The proposed rule announced today provides clarity and will ensure the federal government stays in its jurisdictional lane.”
