WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Senator Deb Fischer (R-Neb.), a member of the Senate Armed Services Committee and the chairman of the Subcommittee of Strategic Forces, today met with Air Force Secretary Heather Wilson. The meeting took place just prior to the U.S. Strategic Command (STRATCOM) 15th annual Birthday Ball in Bellevue.

Senator Fischer released the following statement:

“It was an honor to welcome Secretary Wilson to Nebraska tonight and join her in celebrating the incredible men and women of STRATCOM. Before the celebration began, the Secretary and I, along with others member of the Nebraska delegation, convened for a discussion on several topics, including the state of our Air Force and its challenges.  We also discussed Nebraska’s role, as well as the progress of the new STRATCOM headquarters and the importance of replacing Offutt’s runway. I appreciate Secretary Wilson’s continued support for both of these important undertakings and I look forward to continuing to work with her to ensure our Air Force remains strong.”
