WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Senator Deb Fischer (R-Neb.), a senior member of the Senate Armed Services Committee, released the following statement in response to the United States’ failure to veto the United Nations Security Council’s resolution calling for extended humanitarian pauses in Gaza.

“A pause in Israel’s offensive will allow Hamas to regroup and plot attacks against innocent Israelis and will only prolong this war. It’s shameful that President Biden has abandoned our ally at the United Nations.”
