Fischer Statement on Senate Leadership Election
Today, U.S. Senator Deb Fischer (R-Neb.) issued the statement below following the election of Senator John Thune (R-S.D.) as Senate Republican Leader:
“Last week, Americans voted overwhelmingly to make our country safer and more affordable. Working with President Trump, I’m confident that Leader-elect Thune will deliver on that mission for the American people. I also trust that he will honor the Senate, preserving vital precedents like the filibuster.
