WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Senator Deb Fischer (R-Neb.), a senior member of the Senate Armed Services Committee, released the following statement today after repeated reports of attacks on U.S. forces by Iran-aligned groups.
“Iran is the world’s leading state sponsor of terrorism and a destabilizing force in the Middle East. These ongoing attacks on U.S. troops cannot go unanswered. The United States must do more to effectively deter Iran and its proxies from attacking our forces in the region. Strong deterrence is essential to preventing further regional escalation.”
